Daniel and Heather's "Will You"

Today I had the opportunity to shoot engagement photos for a lifelong friend Daniel and his awesome fiance Heather. They chose to have their pictures taken at Angel Stadium since they both happen to be huge Angels fans....bummer the team didn't get further in the finals this year...maybe next year Heather ;).

We got to the stadium a little before 3pm and waited in the offices on the side of the stadium (sidenote: in all the years I've been going to Angel's games at that stadium, I've never noticed offices....wow) and met with a man named Manny. Manny was the coolest host ever! He took us onto the field and chatted with us as we shot EVERYWHERE possible....he even took us on a VIP tour of all the places the very important people get to hang out! We definitely felt like very important people haha....

Here's some of the home run shots of the day ;)

We shot behind home plate... (how cool is that?!)

We shot in the bleachers....(How often are you the only ones in the stadium?)

We shot in left field... (what a view!)

We even shot in the Press Room.......yes....that's right....the press room :)

And....finally......they made it to third base....(Okay I have to tell you I was so excited about this shot I couldn't sleep last night...SOOOO GOOD!) But really....Daniel and Heather were great sports about this picture and I think it turned out quite nicely...don't you? [black and white by the special request of Daniel]
It was a beautiful day at the stadium.....glad I got to spend it with you guys!

Camden and Stacey "Will You" Part One

This past weekend, I finally had the privilege of shooting engagement photos for two dear friends, Stacey and Camden. Can I just start by saying they are they cutest thing since Winnie the Pooh? If I've got my facts straight, these two have been friends for years....and in the past couple years, they've realized how amazing and irreplaceable they are in each other's lives. It's very rare to find a couple so centered in their own personal relationships with God that it seeps into their identity as a couple....and it's been so cool to watch them grow the past couple years. Camden...you have my stamp of approval....such a great guy!

There's so many great shots from the day at Crystal Cove...and I couldn't include them all so here's a few for now and more will come later ;)

Can I just say that this is one of my favorites because I think it captures Camden so well...He's this tall, brilliant, quiet, peaceful, centered kind of guy who secretly has his crazy side very few lucky people get to witness....and here it is...

No Agenda

This past Sunday I had the unique opportunity to spend a couple hours in Newport Beach just playing around taking pictures of whatever...wherever...whenever...no agenda.Since I've been back in the states, it's been a rare occurrence that I've been able to go out and enjoy just being in a place and feeling free to take pictures of whatever I want to :) So here are some of the pictures from the evening...

So if you ever get the chance to just go out and shoot....do it...there's no one expecting a certain look or specific pictures....there's no time constraints....and it's a ton of fun! There's nothing better than good company, the beach, and my camera....

Jason and Sally "We Did"

I've had the privilege of knowing Jason and Sally since 2005 when we all worked at Forest Home together. They worked at Indian Village where they were known as "Ahanu" and "Sugar Pine". The amazing thing about these two is they separately decided to spend their summer serving God...and they happened to be called to the same place...where they met...and now, 3 years later, they're married. God is good...can I get an amen?

AMEN

Anyways, I was super excited when Jason called and said, "when are we shooting 'we got married' pictures?" So here's a few for you guys....and know that I'm stoked to take pictures at the beach anyday...even if it is cloudy...

Something I noticed that was really cool was how their love has seemingly shaped them, even though it's only been a couple months that they've been married. They've seemed to have fallen into their place in the relationship...they're comfortable and confident in each other....and confident in themselves. It's so amazing to be able to witness that...love is great :).

Thanks for letting me share some of your friday night guys! More is on the way...
Peace for Now,

Kate

Can I Get a Drum Roll...

Welcome to my new blog! I'm super excited to start writing again after this long hiatus of sorts. I hope all of you who followed me through Europe and Thailand will join me through the next chapter of my adventures...this time AT HOME pursuing the call to serve Him.
So what's been happening lately? It will t
ake a couple posts to fill you in on everything, but the short version for now....

April: Came home from a long journey April 5th and spent a lot of time catching up with everyone, post-processing pictures, sleeping, going to the beach, and recuperating...

May: More recuperation time, visiting with friends and family still....celebrated my dear friend Kim's Graduation from UCSD with her amazing family. She is sooo beautiful and I'm sooo proud of her and all of her accomplishments!

Plus...that dress was way cute!

June: Started working at a local coffee shop called It's a Grind on Culver and Irvine Center Dr. in Irvine.....and I love working for Tina and Dave Martinez.... :). I also had the opportunity to shoot some Portraits for a family friend....thus began my photography business....Kate Noelle Photography. I also spent some time up at Adventure Mountain working as a Nation Guide for the new director of Junior Program....SPORX! :)....solid guy...

July: My good friends Martin and Melly from Germany surprised me in late June and I had the privilege of spending a couple weeks with them....miss you guys!

And...congratulations on getting married!

The end of July was marked by a dear friend and mentor's birthday! He's been working at Forest Home for a number of years and it's been an honor and a privilege working for him and learning from him. It was a great day and I hope he had tons of fun!

This is "Silly Pants" riding the Giant Swing for the first time....can you feel the joy?

Here's the birthday boy himself...and all of those awesome people who came to celebrate with him!

August: A highlight was shooting some portraits for my good friend Caitlin Parrott who's an amazing musician.....and later in August I shot a wedding with a Lynn Dann (a family friend) who happens to be an awesome event planner. The beautiful couple, Joe and Christina, were so photogenic and so gracious to allow me the opportunity to share their day! Thanks guys! I ended this packed month with yet another great week at camp with the kiddies and the awesome staff! Oh...and I got a new computer! Hallelujiah.....and new post-processing programs for my photos.

September: I began the month with a much needed time away from the distraction of everyday life....at Forest Home for Briefing. I spent some quality time with one of my favorite people on earth....Meghan Parrott.....as well as the very talented band members of Bel Air Presbyterian Church's worship band...featuring Caitlin Parrott ;). I also started some school at Orange Coast College...I'm taking only two classes...a Business and Marketing for Photography class, and a Photoshop I class (which I LOVE). I've been working at the coffee shop quite a bit....and later in the month, I had yet another opportunity to shoot a wedding with Lynn...this time for Matt and Amanda. It just so happened that I played soccer for years with Amanda and we were on the same team when I was like 7 or 8 years old....random. That was a lot of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the day with them and their families.

And now....October....

Time flies when you're busy...haha...and I've definitely been busy. I'm in the process of starting my own business in Wedding and Portrait photography and it's a lot of work and a lot of time. I feel like I've been telling people that I'm "in process" and it's driving me crazy that I can't get it all done and be perfect at it RIGHT NOW....but it really is a process and I apologize that it hasn't been quicker. I am designing my own website....and it's STILL IN PROGRESS.....but please keep your eyes peeled for the launch of it...I'll probably send an email out when I do saying "HALELUJIAH IT'S DONE! NOW GO VISIT AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW!"

So before I go, I want to shout out to a couple people who've been my lifelines these past couple months through the thick and the thin...Betsy...Iloveyoumissyouneedyou. Chris....thank you for being you! Jon Lau in Hong Kong....JR in Paris (by the way....you're still my hero....)...Nathan in GermanyEgyptTanzaniaTexas....Meghan Parrott....and Cricket (we need to bake more...). And most of all, my family....thanks for putting up with me.

Peace for Now
